Medical Assistant job responsibilities include:

  • Assist the provider in the examination and treatment of patients, following established standards and practices as directed by clinic provider
  • Triage patients including documenting vitals and medical history
  • Prepare examination room by positioning instruments and equipment
  • Administer injections, medications, venipuncture, and wound care as directed by provider orders
  • Perform diagnostic tests and collect lab specimens
  • Monitor disposable inventory and places orders for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals
  • Clean and sterilize exam rooms and medical equipment between patients
  • Help cover front desk responsibilities as needed
  • This position will be required to be trained in X-Ray
Medical Assistant required skills & qualifications include: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • 2+ years MA experience preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required
  • Up-to-date BLS certification
  • Must be proficient with computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite

Xpress Wellness has added behavioral health services to our traditionally urgent care service model to meet a growing need for quality mental health services. We have also expanded into primary care, post-acute care and behavioral health services in long term care facilities. Xpress Wellness is much more than an urgent care clinic. In addition to urgent care centers across the state, we also offer counseling services and psychotropic medication management across the state by telehealth. We offer behavioral health counseling, medication management, and primary care in-person at multiple nursing facilities and partner with home health care services to provide behavioral health counseling in homes by telehealth. We offer both counseling services and medication therapy for behavioral health issues, in-person and by telehealth.

Job Details:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct mental health services in a mostly telehealth platform through multiple Rural Health Clinic locations. Office and alternate site locations depending on provider location and provider preferences.
  • Completes functional assessments to identify presenting problem/s, factors contributing to and factors that may alleviate or resolve presenting problem/s.
  • Plans and implements treatment goals with interventions in collaboration with the patient, family/caregivers, and healthcare providers, and follows up as appropriate.
  • Provides evaluation and diagnosis, targeted interventions, instruction, observation, and follow up to patients and family/caregivers to assist in improving behavioral, emotional, thinking, learning, and social relationship functioning.
  • Maintains encounter notes for each patient contact and other clinical documentation relevant to patient care.
  • Provides information and referral services for organization, patients, and families/caregivers regarding patient needs.
  • Collaborates with referral sources, other providers, and team members in providing person-centered and whole-person collaborative care.
  • PMH Nurse Practitioners will also provide psychotropic medication evaluations and management.

  • Interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated competency in provision of functional assessments, brief solution-focused therapy, diagnosing mental conditions, motivational interviewing and other relevant skill sets related to mental health care.
  • Capable of working independently and collaborate with others.
  • Basic computer and telecommunication technology skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Active license in Clinical Social Work, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist in Oklahoma. Recent changes to Medicare rules now allow us to hire LPCs and LMFTs!
